In 1991 La Tania started her company in Madrid and performed in America for the first time in 1993. Since then her company has developed into a conduit for the most talented and relevant flamenco artists of Spain to perform for American audiences from coast to coast. After performing exclusively in California for two years La Tania Flamenco Music & Dance branched out in 1995 to begin touring other western states and by 1997 was performing on the East Coast. Later the same year the company traveled to Tokyo, Japan where they performed for five months before returning to Irvine, California to premiere La Tania’s "Abrazo" choreography at the Irvine Barclay Theatre in March of 1998. After leaving Irvine the company toured the U.S. for eight weeks closing the season with a week residency at the Joyce Theatre in New York City.

In addition to theater performance La Tania Flamenco Music & Dance conducts numerous workshops around the country and incorporates public service activities into all of its touring programs. These activities include lecture/demonstrations for students, seminars, college dance classes, video/lecture instruction on the art and history of flamenco for civic groups, and other custom tailored activities to inform the public about the art of flamenco. The company also maintains on going dance instruction classes in the home community.

Now in its seventh year of touring, La Tania has already received numerous awards that have helped to both highlight a young and talented company and provide the financial backing to continue to produce new work and tour annually.  The company has been recognized for its outstanding artistic merit with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council, the Meet the Composer Project and most recently was honored with fellowships for new choreography from the Irvine Fellowship in Dance and the John Simmon Guggenheim Foundation.

In 1999 the company featured the world premiere of "Passage of the Muse" at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, a new second home for the company, followed by a ten week international tour in the fall, plus the introduction of "Flamenco in the Redwoods".  This was an eight-day intensive all inclusive workshop with La Tania and her company set in a camp atmosphere on the beautiful Mendocino coast in California.  The inaugural session was a resounding success with over one hundred and twenty participants from around the world.  This workshop is now an annual event for the company with open registration in the spring for the late summer catered flamenco affair on the beautiful California coast.
