FOR STUDENTS

Roots Of Flamenco: A forty-five minute dialogue/demonstration by La Tania and Company. Intended for large groups of students (75 to 300) in grades 3 through 12. This demonstration will be conducted in a juerga style (flamenco improvisation) to give a taste of flamenco origins. The demonstration will include music and dance, historical background, and student participation.

Introduction to Flamenco Dance: A one-hour class for 15 to 35 students. This class, taught by La Tania, gives an introduction to flamenco dance for those interested in getting a taste of this Spanish art form.

Question & Answer in Spanish: (Designed for Spanish language classes) One-hour session for 20-50 students. Dialogue with students in Spanish about flamenco dancing, touring, technique, etc. The hope is to involve students who might be potential audience members and to provide foreign language experience. Slides and/or video will be used.

   
FOR AUDIENCES & COMMUNITIES

Post Performance Audience/Artist Dialogue: 15 to 20 minutes of questions and answers following the performance on apron or in lobby area.

Round Table Discussion: (Designed for civic groups or adult classes) 45 minutes of informal dialogue with 5-20 people. This is a question and answer discussion, which could include lunch or coffee/tea, with dance interested groups. Discussions could include the art of flamenco, what it is like touring in the USA and abroad, what it is like to be a dancer in Spain, or what is required to create, nurture and maintain a dance company. Slides and/or videotape can be utilized.

Flamenco A Traves Del Tiempo: (Flamenco through time) 60-90 minutes with Large video screen.

Part I - Epoca Primitiva (The Primitive stage)
This will talk about and demonstrates flamenco in its beginnings.

Part II - El Café Cantante (The Singing Bar)
Flamenco goes to the stage for the first time

Part III - Opera Flamenca (The Flamenco Opera)
Flamenco goes to the big theater stages and continues to evolve into present day.
